Stranded on the Roof

I can't get the sight out of mind. Thousands of people stranded on their roof tops pleading for help while "w" does a fly-over in air force one and takes photo ops with firemen who have been flown in just for the P.R. stunt. I guess Rove thought it would remind the country of 911 but I don't think it worked too well. The image of the stranded on rooftops and dead floating in the flood water is symbolic of all that the bush administration represents. We are drowning in a sea of debt and death perpetrated by "w" and his "Neocons." They started an unneccesary war in Iraq yet don't have the resources to help the helpless in our own country. They give huge tax breaks to the wealthy yet don't have enough to provide medical care for millions in America. We have the highest infant mortality rate of any industrialized country in the world. That tells you what our priorities are under this administration. We have doubled the number in poverty over the last four years as a result of this administration's economic policies. New Orleans has brought to the forefront the plight of many poor minorities who didn't have the resources to leave before the hurricane. This country is drowning from immorality and the greed of this administration. When will the public kick bush and his republican yes men out of power? It can't be soon enough in my opinion. Maybe the media has finally woke up to the reality of what has happened these last five years and will start to report the truth rather than Rove spin and propaganda. Bush has appointed thousands of unqualified incompetent partisans to run very important agencies in D.C. rather than people specifically trained and qualified for positions in their agencies. Mike Brown of FEME is only one obvious example. They don't believe government is the answer to anything so they put inqualified quacks in charge to prove they aren't important but then when the government is needed for real emergencies other than "W"ar we are unprepared. What does that say about our situation?
I still can't get the view of stranded people on roof tops and visions of people drowning inside their attics as they try to escape the rising waters in their houses. What if something like this happens in your community? Do you trust that "w" is prepared to respond? Oh well, only the fittest survive just like in the jungle. "w" can always throw a few hundred Billion $dollars at the clean up and have a photo op for the cameras to show he feels their pain. How ironic that Cuba and Fidel offered to send aid to us during our crisis in the Gulf because our country couldn't do it. That is what we have come to under this administration.
We are truly stranded on the roof of a deminished America. Help someone, Please!
